‘I have recently joined Kingswood Secondary Academy from Wollaston Secondary School in Northamptonshire where I was Head of PE. I graduated from Loughborough University having studied Sport Science and Social Science at degree level and managing the first team ladies football team to winning the whole BUSA (British Universities Sports League) . I have always loved sport and represented Northamptonshire in Hockey, Basketball and Athletics. I then followed a football career where after University I played for Rushden and Diamonds, Northampton Town and MK Dons ladies. I now play Hockey for Rushden and Higham and play Rounder’s in a local league. When not playing sport I enjoying looking after my pets and socialising. ‘
Mr Matt Gamble - Teacher of PE
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Kingswood Secondary Academy. I arrived here from Wollaston School in Northamptonshire where I had a variety of roles including Head of Year. I am now Head of Physical Education. I began my teaching career at Loughborough University where I completed my degree and a PGCE. My interests include watching and playing a variety of sports including squash and football.”

“I have been at Kingswood since 2005. I gained my degree at De Montfort University in Bedford and came straight to Kingswood from there. I teach across all the key stages and my main interest is Hockey.”

“I've been working at Kingswood since October 2014, initially on a temporary basis which was made permanent in August 2015. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far and I hope to develop the PE department further. I completed my Initial Teacher Training at the University of Chichester in 2014 having completed a 4 year course in Secondary Physical Education. My favourite sport is Rugby and I also enjoy taking part in half marathons and obstacle races such as tough mudder.”

“I began teaching at Kingswood Secondary Academy in September 2015 this is my first teaching position which I have wholeheartedly enjoyed. Prior to joining the academy I completed a Secondary Physical Education PGCE qualification at Sheffield Hallam University in 2015. I gained my undergraduate degree at The University of Hull in 2013 studying BSc Sport, Health and Exercise Science, a subject that I have a great passion for. I currently teach KS3 and KS4 at Kingswood and I am hoping in the future to become more involved with the academy’s successful sixth form. My main sport is basketball however I enjoy taking part in all sports.”
Ross Nightingale - Teacher of PE
I arrived at Kingswood in September 2018 after graduating from the University of Bedfordshire and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. My favourite sport is football which I played at University and continue to play locally, and I also enjoy various martial arts.
Sean Davis - Teacher of PE
I joined the school in 2018 as a teacher of Physical Education and Mathematics. I graduated from Leeds Beckett University in 2017 after studying PE for 3 years. I then went on to complete my PGCE year with The Pilgrim Partnership, training at Wollaston School. My favourite sports are cricket and golf. I am currently playing cricket for Finedon Dolben Cricket Club in the Northants Cricket League and my current golf handicap is 5.
Rhian O'Malley - Teacher of PE
I have been working at Kingswood since 2020 and I am really enjoying my time here. I studied Physical Education and Sport at the University of Lincoln and completed my teacher training at the University of Derby. My favourite sport is football and I have played it since I was 5 years old and continue to play now for a ladies team.
Cameron McLaughlin - PE Technician
I have recently joined Kingswood Secondary Academy as a PE Technician apprentice. My goal is to be a PE teacher and this apprenticeship will send me on my way. My favourite sports are Boxing and Volleyball. I have recently finished my Level 2 College Sport Diploma at Tresham College in Kettering, which I studied for 1 year.
