IT

IT at Kingswood is taught to all year groups from 7 through to 13 and follows the National Curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4.  We adopt a creative approach to IT and students use advanced techniques in multimedia design and web authoring from an early age.  We would like all students to enjoy their IT experience at Kingswood and to develop their IT skills whilst having fun and gaining transferable skills that are relevant to their own lives and experiences.

Recently we included programming into the Key Stage 3 curriculum and we approach that exciting branch of computing using the BBC Micro:Bit devices. They can be coded using various computer languages including Python, JavaScript and Microsoft touch develop. Students also develop interactive games coding with Kodu during year 8.

We also cover the Microsoft products such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel and learners will leave key stage 3 with an in depth working knowledge of these important business applications.
