Dear Parents/Guardians and Students

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you back to the new academic year and hope that you and your families have had a positive and relaxing summer break.

It has been an excellent start to the new academic year and I would like to thank all parents for their support in ensuring that their children are suitably dressed and equipped in line with Academy expectations. The attitude of students has been absolutely suberb since the beginning of term, and I have no doubt that if this continues then as individuals and collectively they will be successful over the coming months.

 Students at the Kingswood Secondary Academy are celebrating after receiving their results for their A-level or equivalent courses of study.

The Academy will close early on the last day of this term.  On Friday 18th July 2014 the Academy will close at 12.00 noon.  The buses have been booked to leave the Academy at 12.10 p.m.   Friday 18th July 2014 is a non uniform day in return for students contributing £1 towards House charities.

As you may be aware, the Academy is following an alternative timetable pattern until the end of term. Students will be offered a range of different activities as part of our two weeks of Immersive Learning.  Normal uniform rules will apply, unless students are taking part in PE for the whole day, when they will be allowed to travel to and from the Academy in their PE kit.

As part of our efforts to ensure Year 10 students are thoroughly well prepared for their GCSE exams in less than a year's time, we will shortly be holding Year 10 trial examinations. We will also be holding Year 9 trial examinations in Science, English and Maths to help these students make preparations for beginning their GCSE courses.

We break today for a one week holiday.  School reopens to students on Monday 2nd June when it will be Week A.
