Inter House Sport Success for Bourne

The first of many of this year’s inter house festivals took part in the last week of term with all houses scoring points, with Bourne winning the top spot.

Mrs Copas, Bourne’s Progress Leader, said ‘What fantastic performances particular in football, I saw plenty of good balls played during the matches.’ Throughout the week, all students in Year 7-9 competed in the tournament, with the winners being invited back for the finals. Activities during Term 1 were Football, Fitness and Netball, which the students had been covering in lesson and it was clear to see the quality of their skills in the finals which shone through with such exciting games. One game went to a breath taking sudden death penalty shootout with Player of the Tournament Lewis Hegarty scoring the winning goal. Other players who also gained Player of the Tournament for their age group were: Leoine Muir (Yr 9), Alison Curtis (Yr 9), Ben McClafferty (Yr 8) and Cole McWilliam (Yr7). Well done to everyone who took part, and let’s hope the Rugby and girls Football are as fantastic this term. The results were as follows:

Boys Football

Yr 7 Bourne 4 v 1 Glennie

Yr 8 Bourne A 3 v 0 Bourne B

Yr 9 Aardman 3 v 3 Bourne (Aardman win on penalties)
