Immersive Learning - Eco Day

'Amazing Animals'
As part of our recent Immersive Learning Weeks, the Humanities Department offered Year 8 students the opportunity to learn about Eco Systems.
The students were introduced to several exotic animals, insects and reptiles. They met and handled squirrel monkeys, a baby Caiman crocodile, an armadillo, snakes, a giant millipede, rats, stick insects and bearded dragons.
The following are comments from some of the students who participated in the event:
"Today has been an amazing experience! It's not everyday you get to see monkeys, crocodiles, armadillos, snakes and bearded dragons. It has been such a fun day and something we would love to do again". Ellie, Chloe, Maddie and Ellen.
"Today was amazing. I have met loads of different and exciting animals. Also it is something I never thought I would do. I have learnt lots of new facts about all of the animals". Alex.
"Today we learnt in a different way and in a better way! We got to experience holding amazing animals from all over the world. Everyone in our group co-operated and enjoyed the day!" Kamila, Leonie, James and Rico.
"Today we saw some unusual animals like stick insects and a Caimon crocodile. We had a chance to hold them which was amazing".
