Zoe Paul - Assistant Principal, Curriculum Lead for Humanities, Vocational and Social Sciences "I joined Kingswood in 2016 and love teaching here. Prior to this I spent the vast majority of my career in Peterborough where I had been an Assistant Principal for five years. I came to Kingswood as I love teaching History and wanted to spend more time in the classroom, which I happily now do. I trained in Nottingham completing my PGCE in 2000. My interests include local history, cycling and travelling around the UK to see our wonderful History". |
Jonathan Pyecroft - Teacher of History I joined Kingswood in September 2019 after being impressed by the welcoming and supportive atmosphere of the school. I obtained my BA Hons. degree in History and Politics from Coventry University and I trained as a History teacher with Nottingham Nova Trust, gaining my PGCE qualification from the University of Nottingham. I taught English in Guangzhou, China for six and a half years, returning to the U.K. to fulfill my dream of being a History teacher and enjoy developing my students curiosity for History and the pastoral side of being a teacher. I have a keen interest in early 20th Century history, particularly World War One and Two and enjoy watching movie, travelling and supporting Arsenal in my free time. |
Laurie Magee - Teacher of History “I have been working at Kingswood since 2009. I trained at Kennesaw State University in Georgia, USA where I gained my B. Sc Degree. I taught history in Atlanta for 5 years before moving back to Corby to be closer to my family. My favourite part of teaching history is anything to do with the Tudors and the gross stuff in Medicine through Time.'' |
Karen Martindale - Deputy Principal "I am Assistant Principal at Kingswood Secondary Academy and have the privilege to teach history here at the Academy. I have always loved history and am one of those people who enjoy visiting castles, old ruins and historical sites . I especially like it if you can physically touch the sites and imagine the number of people who have done that before you. I love travelling, meeting new people and amercing myself in new cultures. As a teacher I get ample holiday time to take advantage of this and have been lucky enough to visit a number of different countries over four continents and look forward to visiting many more." Emma Carroll - Teacher of History I have had the privilege of working at Kingswood Secondary Academy since 2010. I completed a degree in Teaching and Learning in 2012, which had a predominantly Humanities focus. History has always been a passion of mine and I particularly enjoy learning and teaching about the Tudor period and World War II - I am an avid Elizabeth I fan! In my spare time I love to spend time with my family, visit historical sites such as, medieval palaces and memorial museums, travel, read as much as I can and explore new and exciting places. |
