Key Stage 4
At KS4 we offer the Cambridge National Creative iMedia Level 2 qualification. The qualification will encourage independence, creativity and awareness of the I.T. and digital media sector. There are 3 units of coursework; R082- Creating digital graphics, R087-Creating interactive multimedia products and RO91-Designing a game concept and 1 exam. R081 - Pre production skills. All units are currently 25% each, which contributes towards their final grade.
Key Stage 5
Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in IT
Year 12: The Level 3 Cambridge Technical Certificate in IT currently contains 2 externally assessed units:
Unit 1 – Fundamentals of IT
UNIT AIM: A sound understanding of IT technologies and practices is essential for IT professionals. Information learnt in this unit will provide a solid foundation in the fundamentals of hardware, networks, software, the ethical use of computers and how business uses IT.
After completing this unit, the knowledge, skills and understanding you have developed will underpin your study for the additional units.
- 90glh unit
- 1 hour 30 minutes exam
- 80 marks
- Part A – approx. 18-20% multiple choice. Part B short answer questions (no more than 10 marks per question)
- Available in both January and June series
- It will be paper based

Unit 2 – Global Information
UNIT AIM: The purpose of this unit is to demonstrate the uses of information in the public domain, globally, in the cloud and across the internet, by individuals and organisations. You will discover that good management of both data and information is essential, and that it can give any organisation a competitive edge.
This unit will provide you with a greater understanding of how organisations use information sources both internally and externally and the types of information you will encounter. The skills gained by completing this unit will give you knowledge of the functionality of information and how data is stored and processed by organisations. You will also learn about how individuals use information of various types.
This unit will help you to understand the legislation and regulation governing information that flows into and out of an organisation and the constraints and limitations that apply to it. You will also learn the relationship between data and information. Knowledge gained in the study of this unit will also help prepare you for relevant industry qualifications such as VM Ware

- Part A short-answer questions based on pre-release research brief (42 marks). Part B short-answer questions not based on the case study (38 marks). ( Maximum 10 marks per question)
- Pre-release approx. 6-8 weeks prior to the exam.
- A clean copy of this pre-release material will be given to learners with the question paper (no notes)
