Christmas Fair and Show

The night of Thursday 18th December saw our second annual Christmas Fair and Show take place in the Academy Atrium and Main Hall.

Kicking off at 6.00 p.m., the Atrium was lined with a variety of stalls showcasing some fantastic arts and crafts from both within the school and from some of our local community members. There were also some excellent games of skill and chance, including the debut of the wonderfully named Plinko!

From 7.00 p.m., a packed Main Hall was treated to an evening of music and dance which demonstrated talents both known and newly discovered. All the acts were of excellent quality and it is no small act of bravery to perform in front of an audience, so a huge well done to all performers.

As always, big thanks must go to Kate Maxted, Kim Geoghegan and Stacey Miller, EPA Department, for supporting the performers to bring out their best. Special thanks must go to our hastily formed ‘house’ band formed by Teresa Robertson, Gareth Thomas, Luke Roberts and Jack Maxey (Year 12) who provided a professional backing for our singers adding a lovely dimension to performances.

All in all, a very festive night was had and as a bonus money was raised for a variety of charities and causes as well as setting us up for the upcoming production of Oliver! in February.
