Girls Interhouse Football

Yet again the Girls’ PE Department witnessed a plethora of football talent.  The finals took place on Wednesday 18th December in the sports hall with all houses represented.

The Year 7 final was between Littlewood and Glennie and the final score was 1-1 so penalties had to take place, nail bitingly Littlewood clenched the win, unlucky for Glennie as they played heroically.

Year 8 had a tough final, with Alex ‘I play for Leicester’ O’Neill (Bourne) up against Corby’s finest Georgia Martin and Courtney Campion (Aardman). Despite an epic battle of skill and determination Aardman were victorious winning 3–2.

The last match to be played was Hepworth v’s Littlewood.  Mrs Last found it hard to remain neutral chipping in with the odd shout of encouragement for her house.  Quite frankly it was the ‘Ellie Borg show’ as she skilfully managed to put four, that’s four, goals past the Littlewood goalkeeper.  Katie Pridmore tried her hardest to retaliate scoring a hatrick, but this wasn’t enough.

It was a fantastic final with sportsmanship shown by all and hopefully titles can be re-won next year!
