Atom Live Music Convention
On Wednesday 23rd March, eighteen Year 10 BTEC Music students travelled to Birmingham and spent the day networking and exploring career opportunities in the creative industries.
There were opportunities to 'test drive' music technology, including sequencers, digital mixing decks, electronic drums and the latest electric pianos. They also had the chance to lay down tracks in a professional mobile recording studio and watch performances by up-and-coming bands auditioning for a spot on a nation-wide tour.
The whole day was both informative and inspiring - whether having career advice or picking up tips for performing on stage.
As always, the students represented the school well. The organisers commented that 'It was a pleasure to have The Kingswood School involved.'
'I liked watching the performances because we are performing now. And to see how they were not nervous and how they enjoyed every minute of it. I would go again.' - Jean-Luc

'I thought this was a great experience. I learnt a lot of things about certain types of music. Also, the workshops were fantastic. I also got information to contact them to find more on the music industry. Also, live band auditions were great, and to see how an ensemble works together and finally using DJ technology I thought was amazing.' - Ashleigh
